“During the lockdown in March and April I felt impelled to draw totems and animals. Often I would walk in the woods in the afternoons and I sketched and listened. I have been fortunate to see many turtles, snakes, beavers and river birds. I feel there is a sacred power in the dignity of animals. During this strange, peaceful and not peaceful time I have felt the need to listen deeply when I am outdoors. This series is the result of this listening and looking.”
