HARVEY STEIN is a photographer, teacher, lecturer, and
author of four books of photographs: Parallels: A Look at Twins
(1978); Artists Observed (1986); Coney Island (1998);
and Movimento: Glimpses of Italian Street Life (2006). Stein’s
photographs have been published in magazines such as The New Yorker,
Time, Life, Esquire, and Smithsonian, as well as major photo
magazines. He has had 70 one-person exhibits in the U.S. and Europe, and
his photographs are in scores of public and private collections around the
world. His work is represented by the Bruce Silverstein Gallery, Throckmorton
Fine Art and June Bateman Fine Art. He is a faculty member of the International
Center for Photography in New York.
